September brought some notable shifts in the US housing market: home delistings dropped by 12.6%, and we’re seeing price cuts—up 20.4%—at levels similar to what’s projected for 2025. Meanwhile, inventory in the Midwest and Northeast increased by 10.5% and 9.1%, respectively. Mortgage rates are holding steady at 6.67%, and that could mean even fewer buyers entering the market in the coming months. Watching these national trends is essential, but as someone who’s spent over four decades helping clients navigate changing markets here in the Lake of the Ozarks, I know how important it is to balance the big picture with local expertise. My goal is always to keep your transaction as smooth and stress-free as possible, no matter what the headlines say.
